About Amuseable Avocado
The Amuseables Avocado arrived at the exact moment the avocado stopped being a fruit and became a personality, and Jellycat leaned all the way in: "Get your five-a-day in an adorable way," their own copy promised, praising the "natty two-tone jacket in speckled fur," the "squashy, suedey stone" and those "jiggly cordy legs." That stone is the whole trick. Most food Amuseables are a shape with a face; this one has an anatomy, and the corduroy legs give it a sit-anywhere slouch that reads less like produce and more like a small, agreeable houseguest.
It came in two sizes, roughly 20cm and 30cm, though shops label the larger one inconsistently — some call it Large, several US stockists call the same SKU Medium. Sources split on whether it launched in 2019 or 2020, so treat the year as genuinely open rather than settled.
It has relatives, not variants: a Cozi version, a bag charm and a bag. Jellycat's own index last carried it in April 2026 and has not listed it in five checks since. That may mean sold out or retired — we can't tell which yet.
- The exact launch year. Web sources say 2019; our catalogue says 2020. Neither is a primary Jellycat source, and the earliest stockist listing we hold (birdinhand.com, 2020-02-20) is a shop date, not a release date.
- Whether the design is retired or merely sold out. Both SKUs vanished from Jellycat's index on 2026-07-29 after being InStock on 2026-04-25 — five absent checks is suggestive, not conclusive.
- Whether the Small (A6A) and Large (A2A) left the range together. eBay sellers describe both as retired, but seller wording is not evidence of a retirement date.
- Materials and fill for the Large (A2A) — recorded only for the Small.
- Whether a 'Huge' size ever existed. Several eBay titles name one ('Huge Amuseable Avocado', '18"'), but it is not in our dossier and I could not corroborate it against a primary source, so I have not written it into the bio.
