About Amuseables Christmas Tree - Large
The Amuseables Christmas Tree is the plainest member of a crowded family, and that is rather the point. Just squeezy green scruffle fur, a cord stump and one sparkly gold star, with the welcoming smile that makes the whole Amuseables range work. Jellycat's own copy gives him a personality out of all proportion to that simplicity: a tree who lives for December, resents that it only comes once a year, and refuses to de-tree in January. He rebrands instead.
He is part of a line that has branched into Blue Spruce, Nordic Spruce, Fraser Fir and the velour-potted Decorated Tree, and collectors routinely conflate them — secondhand listings for one sibling turn up under another's name constantly, so check the SKU before you buy.
He disappears from Jellycat's index outside the season and returns for it, so absence in July means very little. We don't have a firm first-release date, only the shape of a Christmas product: it arrives in autumn, and shops sell through.
- First release year for A2XMAS/A6XMAS/ARB1XMAS. The earliest independent shop listing is pearlgrant.com on 2020-12-04, which bounds only when a shop listed it, not when Jellycat launched it.
- Whether A2CTR is a genuinely new design or a re-issue of the earlier tree under a new SKU. It is sold as a single size where the earlier line had three, and no source we found compares them.
- Whether the design is retired or simply out of season. Every SKU is out of stock everywhere and absent from Jellycat's index, but that is exactly what a Christmas line looks like in July.
- Whether the 'ready potted' description ever applied to these SKUs, or was carried over from the Decorated Christmas Tree.
- Real sale prices. Everything we hold is an asking price on a live listing.
