About Bashful Bunny Musical Pull

The Bashful Bunny Musical Pull takes Jellycat's most recognised character and hangs it beneath a cream fabric star, with contrast piping and a cord you tug to start an original Jellycat lullaby. There are no batteries — it's a wind-down mechanism, so the music slows and fades the way a music box does. The star fastens to a cot rail or pram handle, which is the point: this is a nursery fixture rather than a shelf piece, made to be reached for and pulled at by someone too small to be gentle about it.

It exists in a small family of bunny colourways — cream, blush and silver among them — sharing one star and one tune. Collectors tend to treat the musical pulls as a category of their own, and the retired floral and Blossom versions are the ones that draw attention on the secondary market; the plain Bashful colourways are still in Jellycat's own index, so scarcity here is ordinary.

We have no archived Jellycat pages for this design, so our release dates come only from when shops first listed it. That is a floor, not a birthday.

What we still don't know
  • The release date. We have no archive.org coverage, and every bound we hold comes from stockist first-listed dates, which record when a shop published a page, not when Jellycat launched the design.
  • Whether the blush and silver colourways are still in production. Several stockists show them out of stock while the design remains listed by Jellycat — that may mean a temporary gap, a colourway being wound down, or nothing at all.
  • The exact tune. Jellycat calls it an original lullaby for this design; a sibling design names 'Hush Little Baby', and we cannot confirm the two are the same.
