About Bashful Pony
Bashful Pony is the Bashful range's stable-mate: the same silky, bean-weighted build that made Bashful Bunny a household shape, redrawn as a foal. Jellycat's own copy is the best description anyone has managed — "caramel charm, with soft hooves, round tum and silky mane and tail," a foal in toffee tones with a peachy muzzle and perky ears. That round tum is the point. The pony sits rather than stands, so it slumps into an arm the way the bunnies do, and the mane and tail are the only long-pile parts on an otherwise short, dense coat.
The Pony has worn more than one coat over the years. Alongside the caramel-and-cream version Jellycat was selling into the 2020s, our records carry earlier SKUs described as light beige with dark brown patches — but that lineage rests on a single catalogue source, so treat it as a lead rather than a settled family tree.
It is genuinely gone. Jellycat's own EU product page read Out of Stock through early 2025 and Discontinued by May 2025, and it has been absent from Jellycat's live index on nine consecutive checks. Every stockist we track shows it sold out too. Resale supply is steady rather than scarce, which is usually the sign of a long, quiet production run rather than a rarity.
- Whether the beige-with-brown-patches Pony and the caramel/toffee Pony are the same design revised or two separate releases sharing a name — only one catalogue source describes the earlier colourway.
- Actual release year of the caramel BAS3PONY version. Our earliest evidence is a shop listing (wrapped.shop, 2021-09-02), which is a shop's listing date, not a release date.
- Whether the small size was retired at the same time as the medium — the archive only covers BAS3PONY.
