About Cordy Roy Dino
Cordy Roy Dino is the corduroy dinosaur of Jellycat's long-running Cordy Roy family — a range built entirely around one idea, that a wide-wale cord rib makes a soft toy look chubby and feel ridged and grippy in a way plush never does. This one is sage green with a row of darker spinal tabs down the back and hard button eyes, standing about 26cm tall in the small. Jellycat's own listing for it is gone now, and every stockist we can see shows it sold out, so we treat it as retired rather than merely between deliveries.
There are two dinos in the family history and collectors mix them up constantly: an earlier medium-sized Cordy Roy Dino from the mid-2010s, and this later, smaller one. Sources give 2021 for the small, but we only ever get a year, never a day, so we show it as a range.
Second-hand it turns up steadily and cheaply for a retired Jellycat — this is a well-loved design, not a scarce one. Check listings carefully: the corduroy Doppy Dino and the Cordy Roy Baby Dino jitter are different products entirely.
- Exact release date, and whether the small is a 2021 addition or an earlier size we simply have no record of
- Whether SR3DIN and SR3DINO are one product or two — no source supports two
- The exact retirement date; we have a wayback-derived retired_by of 2025-01-24 on SR3DINO only, and no independent corroboration
- Whether the medium (ROY3DIN) and the small were ever sold concurrently
- Confirmed dimensions for the medium — our own row contradicts itself
