About Fancy Carp

Fancy Carp arrived with Jellycat's Summer 2026 collection, a nautical wave of characters that landed in May 2026 alongside a seafaring Bartholomew Bear and a whole coastline of new friends. She is a fish rendered entirely in fur rather than scales — which is, of course, the joke and the appeal. Jellycat's own copy leans hard into it: she is "world-renowned for the elegance of her furniture store," the friend Festival Horse calls when a dinner party needs refinement, and she will happily advise on whether your chaise lounge matches your coffee table. Few Jellycat characters get a stated profession, and hers is interior design.

Among the brand's fish, she sits on the decorative end rather than the comic one — closer to a display piece than a Grumpy Fish. The shape is compact and bean-weighted, so she sits rather than flops, with the long fins doing most of the visual work.

She remains listed on Jellycat's own site and is stocked widely, so nothing here is scarce yet. Second-hand asking prices we've seen sit close to retail, which is what you'd expect for a current release.

What we still don't know
  • Whether the 12 May 2026 collection drop date is the exact date this specific SKU became purchasable — collection-level launch dates and per-item availability are not the same thing.
  • Whether Fancy Carp belongs to a named sub-line (e.g. a fish or ocean series) or stands alone.
  • Whether more than one size exists; only KO4C is evidenced anywhere we looked.
