About Bartholomew Bear Seafarer Outfit
Bartholomew Bear is Jellycat's tall, slightly rumpled teddy — the one built to be dressed — and the Seafarer is his High Summer 2026 turn at sea. Despite the name, this isn't a garment sold on its own: it's the bear himself, arriving in a knitted cap with ear holes, a striped sailor top and butter-yellow dungarees, all of it removable cotton over the usual beanie weight. Jellycat's own copy gives him a nervous streak, talked onto a boat trip by Bashful Bunny and kitted out by a cousin so he'd feel ship-shape.
He landed with the wider nautical summer line — Keli Pelican, Pinchsnap Crab, Larry Lobster — in mid-May 2026, and shops began listing him within days of each other, so we hold the release as a window rather than a date. He sits at the top of that collection's price band alongside the other headline plush.
Scarcity here is ordinary, for now: he's still in Jellycat's index and stocked widely, though several retailers cap orders at one or two per customer. Bartholomew's outfit variants tend to be what collectors chase later.
- Whether the retail caps are a Jellycat-set allocation or individual shop policy
- Whether there is a second size or a variant of the Seafarer outfit — nothing corroborates one
- Whether the wide price spread across stockists (59.99 GBP to 159.99 AUD) is currency and market difference or markup; we cannot tell from listings alone
- No archive.org coverage exists for this design, so nothing here is primary-sourced from Jellycat's own site
