About Leffy Elf

Leffy is Jellycat's workshop elf, and the brand's own copy does the character better than a summary could: "Leffy Elf is a helpful pal, making toys and games for Santa. It's cold at the North Pole, so Leffy's cheeks are as red as those boots and candycane socks! They go so well with that fine grassy coat, mittens and gold stitched buttons. But why does an elf need pointy, foldy ears? To listen for sleighbells in the snow!" That's the whole appeal — a forest-green coat with fleecy cream cuffs, cranberry boots and hat, and ruched ears that give the face its slightly conspiratorial tilt.

He ran in several sizes, from a small around 23cm up to a genuinely enormous 76cm version that stockists listed as Really Big. Jellycat's EU site still had him in stock in June 2024; by January 2025 the US site was showing him as discontinued, and he has been absent from Jellycat's index on every check since. We know the retirement window, not the day.

When he first arrived is less settled. Our own records disagree with themselves on the year, and the earliest shop listing we can see is December 2019 — which tells you when a shop stocked him, not when he launched. Resale asking prices swing widely by size and condition; those are asks, not sales.

What we still don't know
  • Release date and release year. No primary source found; our own rows disagree (2018 vs 2024) and the earliest shop listing (Dec 2019) is not evidence of release.
  • What LEF3E actually is — its size tier and dimensions have no corroboration anywhere, and its own row is internally inconsistent.
  • Whether all four sizes ran concurrently, or whether the Really Big and LEF3E variants were later or shorter runs.
  • Actual sold prices. Everything we hold is a live asking price; no completed-sale data.
  • Whether the LEF2E "Large" vs "Medium" label reflects a Jellycat size-tier rename or a data error.
