About Bailey Sloth
Bailey is Jellycat's long-limbed sloth, and the copy Jellycat wrote for him is unusually good at explaining the appeal: "so chilled out, he falls asleep here, there and everywhere." The fur is described by Jellycat as a soothing mocha with a creamy face and a neat eye mask, finished with a bobble nose and chunky paws. Photographs and older stockist copy often read him as pale grey instead, which is worth knowing if you are matching a listing to a photo — the same sloth can look quite different under a shop light.
He is a draped, hanging sort of plush rather than a sitting one, with arms and legs long enough to loop over an arm or a cot rail, which is much of why he is remembered fondly. Jellycat's own European site still showed him in stock in June 2024, listed him as out of stock through 2025, and had marked him discontinued by October 2025. He no longer appears in Jellycat's index at all.
He sits in a crowded field of Jellycat sloths — Bashful, Selma, Cicero and Woogie among them — and resale listings routinely confuse them, so check the style code before buying.
- The actual release year. We show a 2019 window, but nothing primary supports it — the earliest independent trace is a shop listing in late 2020, and a shop listing is not a release.
- Whether the Small (BS6BS) was discontinued at the same time as the Medium. We only have archive snapshots for BS3BS; the Small's status is inferred from its absence from Jellycat's index.
- Which colour description is Jellycat's current one versus an earlier revision — 'pale grey' and 'mocha' may both be genuine Jellycat copy from different years.
- What Bailey actually sells for. Every price we have is an asking price on a live listing, so we can't state a market value.
