About Tia Tiger
Tia is a tiger cub caught mid-lounge — black-and-amber stripes, a long trailing tail and scruffly cheek tufts, sold either draped flat or propped on her haunches as if she's about to spring. She belongs to Jellycat's big-cat family rather than the Bashful line, so she's built long instead of round: measured nose-to-tail-tip, the little one runs about 54cm and the large about 90cm, which is why a size labelled "Little" still arrives bigger than most people picture.
She no longer appears in Jellycat's own index — nine consecutive checks have come back empty — and the stockists who carried her are showing her sold out. Independent collector records list her as retired. Our own catalogue records her release as 2021, but the collector record we can find says 2020; we can't settle that from a primary source, so treat the year as roughly 2020–21 rather than either number exactly.
On the resale side she's genuinely uncommon, and the small size in particular attracts "rare, retired" framing. Those are asking prices on live listings, though, not sales — a useful signal of scarcity, not of value.
- Exact release date, and whether the launch year was 2020 or 2021 — no archive.org coverage of Jellycat's own page exists for this design
- Exact retirement date: last confirmed on sale via stockist listings, first confirmed absent from Jellycat's index 2026-07-29
- Whether a third size ever existed — some shop listings say 'Medium' but appear to be the TA4T Little under a different label
- Any realised sale prices; we have only asking prices
