About Fuddlewuddle Dragon
The Fuddlewuddle Dragon is one of the gentler dragons Jellycat has made — a small, rumpled, mint-sage creature with suedette wings and a stitched pair of nostrils, built more for lap-sitting than for menace. Jellycat's own copy leaned into that: "just learning to control his wings, this fire breathing cutie is a novice in the sky and much prefers having snuggles on the ground." The Fuddlewuddle handwriting does the rest of the work — deliberately ruffled, uneven pile rather than a smooth plush, and a bean-weighted bottom that lets him flop and slump instead of standing to attention.
Among Jellycat's dragons he sits at the sweet, unserious end. The Bashfuls are tidier; the jewel-toned dragons collectors chase — Onyx, Persimmon, Lavender — are big, dramatic and priced accordingly. This one was a shelf-sized everyday dragon, and it was made in a companion Huge size too.
He still appears in Jellycat's own index as of August 2026, but has been out of stock across their US and EU stores through most of 2025 and 2026, with only brief returns. That may mean a restock gap, a wind-down, or a quiet retirement — we can't tell which yet.
- Exact release date. Our 2020 year bound rests on a derived release_year and one secondary summary; the earliest shop first_listed is 2020-12-30, which is not a release date. We know the year only approximately, so it is shown as a range.
- Whether the design is retired. Jellycat still lists it (absent_streak 0) but it has been out of stock at their own stores for most of 2025–2026. Several eBay sellers call it 'retired', but seller wording is not evidence.
- Whether the huge Fuddlewuddle Dragon (FWH1DR) is retired independently of the medium.
- Real resale value. We hold only asking prices on live listings, never completed sales.
