About Fuddlewuddle Elephant
Fuddlewuddle Elephant is the ruffled-fur cousin of the Bashful line: same seated, weighted-bottom posture that lets him sit upright on a shelf or cot rail, but with the tufted, slightly shaggy pile that gives the whole Fuddlewuddle range its name. Jellycat's own copy puts it best — "in soft chalky-blue, with fuddletastic fur and a big long trunk for sniffing out sandwiches." That chalky blue is worth knowing, because sellers almost always write him up as grey, grey-blue, or simply blue, and searching the wrong word is how people miss him.
He was made across a wide size ladder, from a palm-sized tiny up to a 44cm huge. Our records place the release in the early 2010s; we know the year only approximately and not the day, so it is shown as a range.
Today the UK-coded sizes have dropped off Jellycat's own index across five consecutive checks, while a US medium is still listed. That may mean sold out, retired, or a region-by-region wind-down — we can't tell which yet. Second-hand sellers already title him "retired", which reflects belief, not confirmation.
- Actual first release year of the Fuddlewuddle Elephant, and whether the range predates the design
- Whether the UK-coded sizes are retired, seasonally out of stock, or regionally wound down
- Whether FW6EUK and FW6EUS are the same product under two regional codes or differ in colourway/finish
- What the 'US Exclusive Bright' variant named in one eBay title actually is — it appears in no other source and I have not treated it as real
- Any realised sale prices; every figure available to me is an asking price
