About Pinchsnap Crab
Pinchsnap Crab arrived with Jellycat's Summer 2026 drop on 12 May, part of a nautical wave that also brought Larry Lobster, Fancy Carp and Maffles Manatee. He is a bright orange rock-pool scuttler on a wide, flat-ish body, and Jellycat's own copy gives him a very Jellycat job: pillow tester, twelve-hour shifts, a natural napper who knows his eiderdown from his cotton. It's a nice joke on the shape — he really is built to be leaned on.
At roughly a hand-span across and bean-weighted through the base, he sits rather than flops, which is the main thing that separates him from the older crab characters collectors compare him to — Crispin, Herman Hermit, tiny Cornelius. Those are retired and traded; Pinchsnap is not. He is still listed by Jellycat and still in stock in plenty of places.
What's worth noting is the demand signal rather than scarcity: several stockists have him capped at one per customer, and a few sold through early. That's a popular new release, not a rare one — at least not yet.
- Whether the design is exclusive to any market or channel
- Any indication of retirement timing — none exists this early
- Whether more than one size exists; only CR2CRB is evidenced
