About Roarwell Sea Lion
Roarwell arrived with Jellycat's Summer 2026 nautical wave, and he plays the part: a plumptious, softly whiskered sea lion with a taste for mischief, usually cast opposite his good pal Galumphous Seal. Jellycat's own copy leans theatrical — "an oncoming tide of talent," a performer who has been treading the boards his whole life and whose secret weapon is the dramatic pause. It's a rare thing in the range, a plush written as a ham actor rather than a sleepy companion, and it gives him a personality that survives being sat on a shelf.
He comes in one size, a substantial Large that sits upright on its own at roughly 30cm tall and about 20cm across the base. That single-size format is part of the appeal for collectors: no Little to chase, no Really Big to feel short of.
He is still listed by Jellycat, so nothing suggests retirement, but stock has been coming and going at stockists since launch. We know the release year, not the day, so it's shown as a range.
- Exact release day — no archive.org coverage of Jellycat's page for this design, so only a 2026 season bound exists.
- Whether stock_status 'out_of_stock' on eu.jellycat.com means a sell-through, a seasonal pause, or the start of retirement. It is still listed, so retirement is not indicated.
- Any secondary-market price signal: no price history and no observed eBay listings, so nothing can be said about value.
- Whether a Little or Really Big variant is planned; none exists today.
